History
I stumbled into the world of web design by complete accident. I was eleven years old, had recently been introduced to anime, and happened to have a rather troubled friend who knew basic HTML. I bullied her into teaching me a bit and my own curiosity took me from there. For the next twelve years (and counting), it was a wild ride that began on Geocities with a rather hideous shrine to Death from The Sandman, and ended up here on Just-Peachy.com, a domain home to a dozen sites of reasonable aesthetics and a lot of love. (Coincidentally, the term "just peachy" is derived from one of Death's lines in the original comic.) I've seen the end of animated GIF dividers and the dawn of standardized coding, the end of Netscape and the birth of Firefox. I've seen trends come and go, websites rise and fade, and made a ridiculous number of friends. And somehow I've stuck around through it all.
Yes, I realize that probably makes me certifiable. It's not like I get a pension if I stick it out another five months.
Saying that this site is six years old makes me feel like some old fogey intruding on teenager territory, like I'll step in the wrong hole on Myspace and alert the masses that I am not One of Them. Then there'll be screaming and clawing and a dust-filled stampede of Angry Horde and I'll crawl back out into real life in shame and leave my online days behind me. Or something. That's why I avoid MySpace. And I'll insist that it's awesome that this site is older than your first laptop, thankyouverymuch.
Just-Peachy.com was registered in 2002 as a blog to compliment my original collective, Electrosushi.net. It eventually ended up replacing Electrosushi entirely.
